Credit Card Processing

Credit Card processing refers to the multi-step process that allows merchants to accept payments via credit card. We’ve partnered with independent sales organizations (ISO) who are aligned with our same values and committed to providing a quality product. We work with both TSYS and Fiserv (First Data) and provide next day funding at no extra cost. See below for details about the pricing and discount plans that we offer.

Here are the two (2) traditional pricing plans that we offer.

Interchange-Plus Pricing

Also known as cost plus, interchange-plus pricing is a method in which a markup is applied directly to interchange costs set by Visa, MasterCard and Discover. Interchange fees can vary based on a few factors such as the type of card used, average ticket (sale) and or how many transactions were manually entered vs card present sales using a chip or swiped. A merchant will receive a daily deposit on their gross sales, pending they batch daily, and then is billed at the end of the month for the interchange and cost-plus fees that have accumulated during the billing cycle. Interchange Plus is considered to be one of the more transparent pricing plans and can be the most cost effective. However, many business owners find this plan hard to understand since fees can vary month to month and many frown on having a large bill at the end of the month.

Flat Rate

Flat rate pricing is a popular pricing structure that offers merchants a fixed rate to all transactions (i.e. .10 cents and 2.6%). With this flat rate, the type of credit card your customer uses will not affect your bill since the interchange fees are included in this flat rate. Many flat rate plans also have fixed miscellaneous costs which can also vary in cost based on your merchant provider. Business owners have the option to be billed monthly or daily.

Merchants can offset potentially all credit card processing fees by deferring the cost to customers and thus retaining their full sale value. Fully compliant with U.S. bank card brand regulations.

Here are the two (2) "cash discount" plans we offer:

Surcharge Program

A surcharge is the adding of a non-cash adjustment to the customers sale but can only be applied to credit card transactions, not debit / check cards even if ran as credit. We offer 3%, 3.5% and 4% rates but rates will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Debit / Signature bank card fees will be passed onto the merchant at a lower rate. We register all merchant accounts with visa notifying them of the intent to surcharge and we will provide the approved surcharge disclosure signage to be placed at the point of sale and point of entry.

Dual Pricing

Displays both the cash and credit price which treats every transaction as a cash transaction allowing business owners to retain 100% of the cash price for every product they sell regardless of how the customer pays. Dual pricing is not new. Many gas stations have been taking advantage of this plan but only recently have moved to retailers and restaurants. This option is our preferred choice, and we will offer many extras with merchants who choose this plan. Some of these extras may include but not limited to, absorbing the point-of-sale subscription costs, equipment costs, free supplies and more.

Point-Of-Sale Systems

A point of sale, otherwise known as a "POS", is a device or software that a merchant uses to process transactions and accept payments for goods and services.

Here at GoTo Payments we offer several cloud based point-of-sale systems that offer a range of features ideal for all business types. We've also partnered with point-of-sale dealers to offer additional software and operating systems, including embedded software for those who prefer their data to be locally hosted.

A stand-alone terminal is a point-of-sale device that is physically separate and does not communicate with a point-of-sale software register. They are an out-of-the-box solution ready to accept and run credit card payments. Simply key in the amount of the transaction and run the card. Standalone terminals can be stationary or remote utilizing one of our 4g network sim cards.

An ATM, otherwise known as an Automated Teller Machine, is a machine that dispenses cash and can perform other banking services when an account holder inserts a bank card.

Full Service

ATM is installed at no cost to the merchant as long as demand is there (i.e. cash only, lottery, etc.) This includes install, accessories, LED sign (if requested) and keeping the ATM funded.

Self-Service

ATM is installed at no cost as long as demand is there (i.e. cash only, lottery, etc.) The merchant provides their own funds and loads the ATM. The surcharge split will be negotiated.

Self-Owned

Merchant Purchases and loads their own ATM. GoTo Payments resells ATM at cost and provides free installation. A .25 cent fee will be applied to each surcharged transaction to cover processing costs and to ensure ATM is operational.
